Estero Home Security, Alarm Monitoring and Cameras

Much of Estero is gated golf and lake communities. They include The Brooks (Shadow Wood, Copperleaf, Spring Run and Lighthouse Bay), Grandezza, Wildcat Run, West Bay Club and Pelican Sound, along with Stoneybrook, Bella Terra and the condos around Coconut Point. Nearby, just outside the Village line, are Corkscrew Shores and Miromar Lakes. Many of these homes belong to seasonal residents who split the year between Southwest Florida and somewhere else. Vigilant Security is based in Naples and installs, monitors and services alarm systems and security cameras for homes and businesses across Estero and the surrounding area.

Alarm systems and 24/7 monitoring

A good alarm system covers the doors, windows and motion areas you care about, plus life-safety devices such as smoke detectors and flood sensors. We install and service 2GIG, Honeywell, DSC and Qolsys systems. Every account we monitor uses cellular communication, which we’ve used exclusively since 2009, so the alarm doesn’t depend on a landline. Monitoring is handled by five-diamond certified central stations: four interconnected stations, the closest in Sarasota. Most systems also let you arm, disarm and check status from your phone.

Taking over the system you already have

Many Estero homes came with an alarm system installed by the builder or a previous owner. If yours still works, you probably don’t need a new one. We can usually take over the monitoring of a compatible system after a technician checks the panel, sensors, communicator and backup battery. If something needs repair, we’ll tell you, and we won’t push a replacement you don’t need. How a monitoring takeover works.

Security cameras

Cameras let you see who’s at the door, check on the house while you’re away, and keep a record if something happens. We install hardwired cameras for reliability where we can, and wireless, cellular or solar cameras where wiring isn’t practical. Every system includes an app for remote viewing. We’re certified installers for Uniview, Hikvision and Ring. A technician will recommend placement and email you a written quote. Many Estero associations have rules about exterior equipment, so check yours before installation. See our security camera options.

Gated communities and seasonal homes

A gate at the community entrance doesn’t protect the house itself, especially one that sits empty all summer. Before you leave for the season, have the alarm’s backup battery and cellular communicator checked, make sure your contact list is current, and confirm the cameras are recording.

Hurricane season

Storms in Southwest Florida can mean long power outages, and parts of Estero near the Estero River and west of US 41 also face flooding. Flood sensors near water heaters and on lower floors can send an alert before the damage spreads. Backup batteries in alarm panels don’t last forever, and a dead battery is a common cause of trouble beeps after a storm. If yours is beeping, our maintenance page covers common fixes, or call us and a technician can help.

Estero businesses

We install and monitor commercial alarm and camera systems for offices and retail spaces along US 41, Corkscrew Road and the Coconut Point area.

Local, with no salespeople

We’re locally owned. Quotes come from a technician, and the technician who installs your system is the one who services it.
